Hillary Hawthorne Design is a full-service interior design firm based in New York City, The Hamptons, and Richmond, VA. We serve clients from East Coast to West Coast and offer a range of services including interior architecture (new build + renovation), interior design, and styling (art + accessories). We manage projects from concept through installation with extreme care and attention to detail to ensure that our clients' visions are fully realized through an efficient and enjoyable process.

Hillary Hawthorne, Principal

Hillary Hawthorne is an interior designer with a keen eye for mixing unique antique finds with modern designs and her own custom pieces. Born and raised in Virginia, Hillary earned her BA from the University of Virginia with a minor in Architecture. Upon graduating from UVA, she moved to New York City to continue her design education at Parsons The New School for Design, earning her AAS degree in Interior Architecture and Design.

Prior to launching her design firm, Hillary spent 12 years working for prominent architecture and interior design firms in New York City including Sara Story Design, MR Architecture + Decor, CetraRuddy Architecture, Gachot Studios, and AERO Studios Ltd. Her extensive portfolio of design projects includes private residences, luxury condo + apartment building developments, and commercial projects in New York City, The Hamptons, California, Colorado, Texas, Virginia, and beyond. She aims to create uniquely beautiful, yet functional spaces that are reflective of her clients' personalities and lifestyles. When not in front of her computer drafting and sourcing, she loves hitting the pavement locally and while traveling to explore and discover the best of what the design world has to offer.
